1) Humankind: A Hopeful History, 2020, by Rutger Bregman. Watch his short video at: https://youtu.be/A76hP2mCxI0
The book was just featured in People, and in a Time magazine (May 18) article called “The Moment to Change the World Is Right Now.” The well known Dutch author states: “Historians have long known that a crisis can be a turning point for societies.” But “the media often focus on the negative, and we need to take a look at the bigger picture.” “There’s been an explosion of altruism and cooperation: people singing from balconies; neighbors collecting food; volunteers sewing masks; doctors, nurses and cleaners risking their lives on the front lines.“ “ Human beings, (scientists) say, have not evolved to fight and compete, but to make friends and work together.” The book is due out June 2nd.
2) Power v. Force: David Hawkins In David Hawkins’ book, Power v. Force, he uses kinesiology to calibrate attitudes based on a numerical scale. Anything calibrating over 200 is considered to be tapping into POWER/under 200 is tapping into force (acted upon by external factors).
In Power v. Force, Hawkins has a two-paging listing of attitude pairings one of which calibrates over 200, the other of which doesn’t. Hawkins suggests that just by reading over the list – by merely becoming acquainted with the differences between these poles -- we can begin to increase our inner power.
He writes: ‘With these distinctions in mind, we’ll start to notice things we never observed before. Such revelations occur because the universe favors power. (Power v. Force, p. 148)”
